Veronika Macku
Project Manager
Veronika is OIKO’s Senior Project Manager responsible for managing and supervising OIKO’s ongoing projects in different regions (Latin America, Africa, and Asia), facilitating workshops and stakeholder engagement processes, coordinating teams, and drafting technical reports.
She has international working experience in sustainable development, circular economy, environmental policy, advocacy, and human rights. Veronika holds a BA in Political Science from Universidad de Granada, as well as a master’s degree in Social and Cultural Anthropology, with Specialization in Development and Social Transformation, from Vrije University Amsterdam. For her master’s thesis, she conducted an ethnographic fieldwork in Argentina, researching the impacts of current agro-industrial model on the people and the environment.
Prior joining OIKO, she has been working as Project & Program Coordinator in an environmental NGO Hecho x Nosotros promoting circular economy principles in Latin America, while being involved in educational institutions as a teacher. In addition, she is a co-author of Bioregional Labs Insights Report: “A collective strategy for unlocking nature’s potential to reverse climate change and biodiversity loss”, published by Ashoka Netherlands. As an applied anthropologist, Veronika understands problems and needs of people from diverse cultures and backgrounds, and she has excellent communication and mediation skills. She is fluent in English, Spanish, Czech and has a working knowledge of French.
