A team of experts from OIKO LOGICA has completed an evaluation of the National Center for Environmental Technologies (Centro de Tecnología Ambiental de Perú). The German Cooperation Agency (GIZ) has sent our consortium ECI-OIKOLOGICA to complete an assessment of the different support programs in Latin America coordinated by the Regional Fund for South-South Cooperation.

The National Center for Environmental Technology is a leader in the science of human health and ecological risk assessment, a process used to determine how pollutants or other stressors may impact human health and the environment.

The center occupies a critical position generating new findings and data and the regulators in Environmental Protection programs and regional offices who must make regulatory, enforcement, and remedial action decisions.

CTA addresses the needs of stakeholders by preparing technical reports and assessments that integrate and evaluate the most up-to-date research. These products serve as a major component of the scientific foundation supporting regulations and policies. CTA also conducts cutting-edge research to develop innovative quantitative risk assessment methods and tools that help extrapolate between experimental data and real-world scenarios, improve our understanding of uncertainties, and facilitate careful weighing of evidence.

Innovate financing for climate change

Innovate financing for climate change

For those interested in understanding how finance is important for climate change and how innovative financing arrangements can help combat poverty and renewable energies, this Lab is a good source of inspiration. Very illustrative experiences on how public finance can play an instrumental role on climate change adaptation and mitigation.
People think that climate change is about costal destruction, temperature, poor households being affected by cyclone and floods, etc. which is right! But the only way to PREVENT this from happening is providing insurance for farmers, funding for innovative energy financing in non commercial setting and other basket funds and financial arrangements which are NOT supported by commercial traditional banks.

Eligibility assessment for renewable energy reforms in the Republic of the Marshall Islands

Access to affordable and reliable sources of energy is crucial to enhancing sustainable livelihoods in the Pacific Island countries, contributing to economic growth and development in remote off grid atolls, here vulnerable communities live. Financing for outer island renewable energy equipment installation, maintenance and the eventual replacement of essential parts, batteries, inverters, etc has to be secured with local leaders. OIKO LOGICA Team held meetings with majors of 10 Atols to define user-pay models via a revolving fund via monthly user-fees. This majors meet once a year! they spend up to 12 hours commuting in ferries and small boats to reach Majuro. They do not have electricity nor telephone connections in their small islands.

“Whatever our personal weaknesses may be, the nobility of our craft will always be rooted in two commitments, difficult to maintain: the refusal to lie about what one knows and the resistance to oppression”.

We cannot find more accurate words to define or responsibility with climate change.
